POP function for DNS16

The POP function for DNS batch 16 of Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy at Karjat was held on 14th July 2018. The function was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Peter Rasmussen (Head of Maritime Information, BIMCO) and the Guest of Honour Capt. Anil Tejpal (Business Development Director, Commercial, Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, Hong Kong) with his family. Also present were Capt. Pradeep Chawla (Managing Director, Group QHSE & Training, QA), Mr. Francis Akkara (Vice Principal & Assistant Director, AEMTC) and other dignitaries from the Anglo-Eastern Group.

On arrival, The guests were welcomed to the Academic Block and taken through various Projects which amazed them and showed a sense of assertion towards cadets. This assurance will motivate the cadets to enhance their skills and intelligence on-board the ship.

Later, the guests were taken to the Auditorium, which was packed with Parents, Cadets, Faculty members and staff which exuded an atmosphere of pride, happiness and joy. Ms. Sweta Singh (Physics Faculty), hosted the entire event. The function began by welcoming the chief guest and the Guest of Honour, followed by presentation of an elaborate course report by Capt. Jairaj Nakhwa. A high energy cultural show was put up by the cadets. Chief Guest Mr. Peter Rasmussen with Guest of Honour, Capt. Anil Tejpal presented short and crisp speeches which motivated the cadets to become better officers on-board the ship. Capt. Chawla enthralled the audience with his signature Audio Visual Presentation to push important and serious message.

This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony, where the top 2 cadets of DNS batch 16 and GME batch 23 were appreciated with mementoes for their Academic, Work shop and Involvement Skills. The event concluded with the launch of Seaward Bound AEMA Magazine Edition 03-2018 and Vote of thanks by the Cadet Gagandeep Singh.

The Guests and the dignitaries then proceeded for lunch, after which they were taken around the Engine workshop, seamanship lab, mooring station  and the Library.
